The Kraal Wagenhuis Winter Lunch: R350 for Lunch + Red Wines

There are so many things to love about a Cape winter on Joostenberg Wine Estate: lush green cover crops between the bare vineyards, bright sunlight bursting through on a grey, gloomy day, aloes and winter bulbs popping into flower, and daisies all along the road sides. And in the cosy Wagenhuis tasting room you’ll find warm and inviting hospitality, soft light, a roaring fireplace and mellow tunes on the record player. The new Wagenhuis winter lunch is a chance to explore red wines of character that express the soul of the estate and are ideal for wintery days (Klippe Kou Syrah, Bakermat and Philip Albert Cabernet Sauvignon), alongside bold, hearty dishes that feel like a comforting hug, made using the estate’s free-range meat. Plus a clutch of seasonal side dishes served in their usual generous family style. It’s a time to embrace the season, slow right down and linger at the table with friends and family.
