The 4 Best Strawberry-Picking Farms in the Cape 2018

The 4 Best Strawberry-Picking Farms in the Cape 2018

Grab a basket and fill it to the brim with a fresh crop of superfood!

Fellow Capetonians, how lucky are we to have access to beautiful farms in and around our city (and slightly further afield) where we can go strawberry-picking to our heart’s content? There’s nothing quite like strolling through strawberry fields with a bunch of friends, while the little ones roam free, and filling baskets with fresh and delicious produce.

Strawberry-picking season in the Cape happens every year between October and December, with Stellenbosch being the number one destination. There’s also a strawberry farm in George, where an annual festival is held in September each year to honour the rose-hued berries. Here’s where we love to go strawberry picking in the Cape.

We were only able to get confirmation from Helderberg Farm and the good news is that they do host parties for all ages. Please keep an eye on this post (or sign up to our newsletter) and we will keep you posted on the others.

Hi Naledi. Strawberry season begins in September / October, so the places featured on this list will re-open for strawberry picking around that time. Hope this helps.
