Ken Forrester Wines: A New Sculpture Garden + Vineyard Walk
The home of FMC is growing a new crop of visual art…
By Inside Guide • 05 November 2025
There’ve always been plenty of good reasons to visit Ken Forrester Wines in the Stellenbosch Winelands… the superb wines (including, of course, the iconic FMC), the relaxed family atmosphere in the cosy wine lounge tasting room, and the beautiful mountain views over the Helderberg. Now there’s an addition that entices you to stay even longer: a newly installed sculpture garden curated by world-class artist Janko de Beer and FOMO Fine Art, that leads you through gardens and vineyards and sets your soul soaring.

Wine-tasting and sculpture walks
Come for a wine-tasting and soak up the nuances of the chenin blanc legends and hand-crafted Rhône-style blends, then step outside and elevate your visual palate too. A curated collection of 20 (and counting) sculptures has been strategically installed in the Winelands landscape for maximum impact, representing a broad range of respected South African artists, from young and talented sculptors at the start of their careers to world-class artists at the top of their game.

Art in the landscape
Explore pieces by Riaan van Zyl, Janko de Beer, Nanette Ranger, Louis Chanu, Armand van Rensburg, Maritza Breitenbach and many more dynamic names. Some you’ll discover tucked between the rows of the FMC vineyard block (planted in 1974), others catch your eye on the lawns, beside a towering cypress tree, or reaching up to dramatic mountain horizons.

A permanent exhibition, with more pieces to be added as it organically evolves, the sculpture garden is open to all guests visiting Ken Forrester Wines for a tasting. Definitely one to add to your Stellenbosch summer must-do list.
