Get Cosy with a Brandy-and-Chocolate Pairing

As temperatures drop, there’s nothing lovelier than a snifter of brandy to put some fire back into your veins. Which is why we were thrilled to discover that KWV, the iconic SA brandy and wine company that was founded in the same year that Madiba was born, is offering House of Fire tours at the KWV Emporium in picturesque Paarl.

Set the world on fire

After a short bus ride through the KWV cellar complex, the tour stops at the newly renovated brandy distillery, where you will sample some delicious brandies accompanied by an assortment of chocolates…

Another pairing, we hear you say? Admittedly there are loads of tastings dotted around our fair Cape, but this one is sure to leave you feeling roasty and toasty inside, while also hitting the sweet spot.

Tours are conducted in English, and are for over-18s only; regrettably, there is no wheelchair access. House of Fire tours occur twice daily, from Monday to Friday, with a maximum of 14 visitors per tour. Reservations are essential.

Good to know For those who would like to experience the brandy-and-chocolate pairings, but don’t have time for the full tour, KWV Wine Emporium offers tasting experiences daily between 9am and 4.30pm (3pm on Sundays).
