Mirage Catamaran: A Luxury Yacht Cruise in Cape Town
A five-star sailing experience.
By Inside Guide • 17 December 2025
It’s called Mirage, but it’s no fantasy – this 76-foot-long luxury catamaran, the largest in Cape Town, is your front-row seat to the gorgeous coastline. A sail across Table Bay and along the Atlantic Seaboard gives you breathtaking panoramic views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and the cityscape, and up-close views of vibrant marine life.
With its sleek, sophisticated, double-deck design and elegantly appointed interiors, Mirage offers guests an indulgent escape – whether that’s a one-hour day sail or the 90-minute sunset cruise.
Welcome on board

The main bridgedeck has a glass-enclosed saloon area with 10 tables, where drinks and food are served. Retractable windows provide an immersive experience and all-weather comfort. For exhilarating 360-degree views, sunshine and fresh ocean breezes, there’s the upper flydeck with six seating areas under stretch-tent shade – or the trampoline zone up front.
The yacht is stylishly fitted with booth seating, ottomans and benches in white or pale grey leather upholstery, with scatter cushions and even cosy blankets for added comfort. Attentive crew make you feel pampered, serving welcoming glasses of bubbly (for the sunset sail), cocktails and fine wines from the full-service bar, and piping-hot pizzas from the galley. Other light snacks and cheese boards are available, as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Let’s sail away

The day sails (four a day) are all about blue skies, sunshine, sea spray and the best views of Table Mountain, Robben Island and the city. You’ll also spot marine life on these ocean safaris – dolphins leaping alongside the yacht, seals, sunfish, penguins and other seabirds (and whales in the colder months).
Whether you’re looking for a weekend outing or are a visitor to our shores, this is a relaxed one-hour escape complete with food, drinks and photo moments from every angle. It’s also a great family excursion, as children are welcome – kids and young teens receive a special “Mirage Explorers” guidebook for a fun and educational adventure discovering the wonders of the ocean.
The Brunch Club

A laidback 90-minute mid-morning sail – where good food, sea air and a glass of something sparkling sets the tone for your weekend. Every Saturday and Sunday (from 1 March 2026) Cape Town’s coastline becomes the backdrop to your brunch plans. There’s an à la carte menu, with a complimentary mimosa on arrival to get things started. Think sunshine on the deck, music in the background and the kind of weekend energy that only a morning at sea can bring.
When Saturday + Sunday, 10am – 11.30am
At golden hour

Enjoy Cape Town’s most photogenic sunset, with cool cocktails and that golden glow settling over the Atlantic as you sail out from the V&A Waterfront for a 90-minute cruise. Add hot pizzas, panoramic views and DJ sets on weekends, and you have the perfect evening on the water.
As the Mirage chases the sun dipping into the sea, you’ll be dazzled by water that mirrors the kaleidoscope colours of the sky, and return to port as the first stars twinkle in the inky sky.

Good to know Private charters can be arranged (for up to 115 guests). These can include optional extras like an inflatable ocean pool and water slide, hot showers, braai facilities and chef catering.
