Muse Gallery: A Welcoming Space for Art + Wine Lovers in Franschhoek

Muse Gallery

For the inspiration and love of fine art.

It’s not just a picturesque wine town – Franschhoek’s flourishing art scene is drawing collectors, interior designers, art lovers and international visitors keen to gain an insight into South African creativity. One must-visit address is Muse Gallery, a fresh and welcoming house of art where dreams take flight.

Muse Gallery Exterior

Showcasing a range of our country’s established and emerging artists, the multi-roomed space is adorned with diverse modern works – bold, colourful, moody, evocative; from paintings, drawings and mixed-media to digital art and sculptures (the latter are displayed indoors and outside in a beautiful garden). International artists are also featured occasionally.

Muse Gallery: Gretchen Boon

After several years in the UK, consulting and collaborating with prestigious galleries and high-end clientele (including celebrities and royals), Gretchen Boon has returned home to further her journey in the world of art. For her, Muse Gallery is the next chapter in her story, a place where “art finds its true home”.

Art and beyond

Muse Gallery: Interior

In addition to the art adorning the light-filled gallery spaces and garden, visitors can enjoy a glass of bubbly, wine, coffee or tea during their visit, and chat to the experts about artworks for their home, business or other spaces.

Muse Gallery: Tastings

Befitting its location, Muse Gallery hosts wine tastings, too, with visits to local estates on request, as well as guided tours of Franschhoek’s other galleries so that art lovers can get the full experience. The gallery is also a cultural hub, available for talks, workshops, private gatherings and small special events.
