Fly To Plett By Private Turboprop For An Extra-Special Lunch Experience
A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
By Inside Guide • 12 April 2023
Plett for lunch and back in Cape Town in time for dinner… If this sounds like something from a jet setter’s social diary, that’s because it does require a private turboprop – a Beechcraft King Air B200 to be precise. Which is an experience in itself, and well worth the splurge. If you’re looking for an extraordinary way to celebrate a BLM (big life moment), this is a day trip on steroids!

The luxury leather seats of a VIP aircraft, a scenic one-hour flight to Plettenberg Bay, lunch by the beach at Enrico’s and some Indian Ocean beach time before flying home again – it’s a special celebration that’s certain to go down in family history.
Jet setting

The joy of chartering a private jet is that there are no check-in queues. Simply show up 20 minutes before take-off for your safety briefing, relax on the viewing deck, then climb aboard and sink into the luxurious leather seats while you chat to the pilot. Then enjoy gorgeous views of South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route coastline all the way – everyone gets a window seat! You’re whisked up to Plett in an hour (which feels all too short) and stroll off the plane to find your private car ready and waiting for you.
Lunch on the beach

A Plett hidden gem, Ristorante Enrico right on Keurbooms Beach is your ultimate destination. The stunning beachfront setting and incredible ocean views are worth flying here for all by themselves – if you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of a whale (in season) and dolphins. Relax over Enrico and Ornella Iacopini’s unpretentious Italian trattoria food, including excellent seafood (some of it caught by Enrico himself) and Plett’s best thin-based pizzas, all served with a warm and friendly vibe. Walkways lead directly onto the sands for a post-lunch stroll or swim.

Then it’s back to the airport for your VIP flight home, and another hour of soaking up stunning aerial views.
