Inspired by the scent of fynbos, the ocean spray and the coastal setting, the essence of the Cape’s natural kingdom is incorporated into immersive wellbeing treatments at the newly-renovated Fairmont Spa. It’s a restoring sanctuary where you can luxuriate in the aromas of locally sourced botanical oils and Esse’s proudly South African “rewilding” probiotic skincare products in bespoke rituals, from rejuvenating facials to deeply soothing massages. The serene space includes three treatment rooms (including a couple’s suite with private steam room and balcony); a calming salt room; a sauna and steam room; and a sensation shower.

Seasonal South African flavours at Heirloom

Plush, sophisticated and welcoming, Heirloom’s perfect perch looking out over bobbing yachts to the distinctive silhouette of Table Mountain creates an undeniable sense of occasion, whether you’re enjoying a weekday breakfast, an unhurried weekend breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or a luxurious à la carte dinner paired with fine wines. Chef Wesli Jacobs’ seasonal à la carte menus find expression in the unhurried spirit and bountiful terroir of South Africa, from fresher-than-fresh abalone sashimi to a 1kg Mozambican lobster served with biryani rice and homemade peri-peri sauce; and the authentic aromas of Karoo pap en vleis, laced with smoky braai flavours. Bookshelves, leather sofas, elegant decor and more sparkling views over the marina and the mountain, the Library Lounge is the place to catch up with friends over morning tea. With a sumptuous selection of sandwiches, scones and fine loose-leaf teas, it’s a lighter version of the afternoon tea but just as indulgent. In the evenings, the sophisticated space transforms for pre-dinner cocktails or nightcaps looking out over the twinkling lights of the marina.

Lazing by the pool

The Pool Bar at Cape Grace delivers Mediterranean vibes with views through a sheltering wall of arched windows over the yacht marina to Table Mountain. With comfortable sun loungers around the heated 10m swimming pool and a well-furnished bar along one side, it has the feel of a self-contained ocean liner about to set sail… the seagulls swooping overhead only add to the illusion. The dedicated pool staff serve drinks, snacks and fresh alfresco meals as you lounge on the sun deck or settle into a shady spot under an umbrella. And there’s freshly made gelato and fruit sorbet too.

There’s a secret speakeasy glamour to this iconic marina-side watering hole, where the creative mixology team shakes up superb signature cocktails and classics that complement one of the largest whisky collections in the southern hemisphere (tastings are available) and a cellar full of great wines. The casual-chic small plates also go down a treat, especially with live jazz on weekends. For sundowners, take a seat on the terrace for views over moored yachts; then head inside where cosy alcoves, velvety banquettes and a long bar beckon.
