Setting Set in the Grootrivier Valley below dramatic slopes, Mount Ceder is about as secluded as they come. The self-catering escape offers a selection of houses (villas and mini-villas, as they’re called), each unique in style and with their own charms – Klipbokkop, however, is the showstopper; Taaibos is next to the river and Waboomhoek is closest to the river pools. The surrounding landscape, part of the greater Cederberg Conservancy, is famed for its rugged beauty, red sandstone rock formations and brilliant sunsets. It’s magnificently restorative, and nature lovers will relish daily walks along the river or up into the mountains.
