The Best Farmhouse Accommodation in the Cape 2018

The Best Farmhouse Accommodation in the Cape 2018

It’s the farmer’s life for me….

Ah… the farm life. The sound of cows mooing, the sight of sheep grazing, the smell of lush green meadows and fresh farm-baked bread. There’s nothing like a farm stay to reconnect your spirit with the land.

After all, beyond the picture-perfect haystacks and wood bales, life in the country holds a special significance for the human story. Learning to work the land was an important step in the advancement of our species. Indeed, thousands of years later, the sacred bond between humanity and the earth continues to drive the growth of nations.

Our list of farm getaways includes fruit and dairy farms, idyllic animal farms, and even a rugged Karoo outpost that provides a glimpse into life on the frontier. (And, since the well-known, big-name wine estates are a world unto themselves, we’ve decided to exclude them from this feature.) These are our best farmhouse stays in the Cape.

Have you stayed at any of our farmhouse picks? Or perhaps a hidden gem that’s not on our list? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
