Launch your next adventure from a new heli-base.
The launch pad for Cape Town Helicopters just got sexier! They’ve opened a brand-new hangar, reception lounge and heliport for their airborne adventures at the end of the V&A Waterfront’s East Pier. Here, they have 14 helipads (and a wide selection of Airbus and other helicopters) at their disposal, ready to whisk you off on an exciting whirl of skyward experiences.
It’s a world-class facility (with its own gorgeous Table Mountain and ocean views) that adds to the already scenic advantages Cape Town has over other global destinations for helicopter tours, in that it’s all too beautiful… right from the word go.
“The new premises match the standards expected of the luxury segment of the tourism market,” said Neil Warren, CEO of Cape Town Experiences and Cape Town Helicopters, at the September launch, which was also attended by Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, and David Green, CEO of the V&A Waterfront. “Cape Town lends itself to heli tourism in that guests have access to the natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula immediately as they lift off from the V&A.”
Eco-friendly helicopters
The fleet is as state-of-the-art as the new hangar, including Airbus helicopters designed to maintain noise levels below 60 decibels. This they achieve with a Fenestron enclosed tail rotor with unevenly spaced blades that break the frequency and reduce the levels of noise output. This makes Cape Town Helicopters one of the few licensed to operate in eco-sensitive areas.
Helicopter Wine Safari
On the menu this season is a slew of new helicopter wine safaris. Ever wanted the designated driver to your wine-tasting to be a pilot and your wheels to be rotor blades? Now you can fly in to your wine tastings and enjoy previews of the terroir from the sky, at iconic wine estates such as Muratie, Hartenberg, Cavalli, Creation, Babylonstoren, Klein Goederust and Almenkerk, all of whom have partnered with Cape Town Experiences for this new range of exclusive wine adventures.
All of these tailormade adventures depart from Cape Town Helicopters’ new V&A Waterfront hangar and heliport, making it easy to access a select handful of the Cape’s best experiences at the whir of a rotorblade.
