A wedding day at Penhill often extends to a weekend-long celebration with an effortless flow between ceremony, reception and accommodation, all against a vineyard and mountain backdrop.

Corporate retreats reimagined

As a place to reset, regroup and reconnect, Penhill provides a calm setting that feels far removed from the boardroom. Strategy sessions can take place in the Manor House lounge, breakouts can move onto the lawns or into The Cellars, and informal conversations continue on walks through vineyards and olive groves. For teams, the real difference is uninterrupted privacy, natural beauty and the chance to turn meetings into meaningful shared time, balanced with hiking, fishing, cycling or paddling in the dam after a long day of work.

Contemporary comforts

Beautifully restored, the accommodation provides authentic farm living with the deluxe touch throughout, and sleeps up to 24 people when you take over the farm for exclusive use. The 1840 Cape Dutch manor (sleeps 8), two historic two-bedroom cottages (the Fruit Barn and secluded Pepper Tree Cottage – the oldest structure in the valley, built in 1750) and the recently added East and West Grange (double-storey, semi-detached two-bedroom cottages) have luxurious furnishings and all the home comforts (including airconditioning, heating, wifi and big-screen streaming facilities). Hot tubs in the cottages, and swimming pools at the Manor House and the Fruit Barn invite contemplative time soaking up the views. Each unit is fully equipped for self-catering with its own kitchen and dining area, so it’s easy to have independent downtime in-between gatherings and celebrations.

Cape country dining

The old farm wine stores now house The Cellars Restaurant & Bar, an elegant dining space tucked beneath gables that has become a quiet social hub for the valley. Expect relaxed, seasonal farm fare from the Robertson Valley, served at unhurried breakfasts, Sunday lunches and candlelit dinners. Harvest tables and long-table feasts can be tailored to your menu and dietary preferences, and the kitchen will also prepare a Penhill Picnic for you to enjoy on the lawns or beside the dams.

In summer, the Dinner in the Vines series lays a long table in the vineyards, under fairy lights, creating a romantic setting for overnight guests. The adjoining bar, lounge and outdoor patio are natural gathering places for sunset drinks, celebratory bubbles and wines from the farm and surrounding estates.
