Mouth-watering tapas and award-winning wine on this tranquil wine estate.
There’s a joke that circulates in foodie circles: How do you know if somebody’s eaten at Chefs Warehouse? They’ll tell you! Indeed, Liam Tomlin’s original eatery on Bree Street deserves all the bragging rights and fanfare it receives – which is why seven of our country’s top chefs – including Michelin-starred Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, Luke Dale-Roberts, Eric Bulpitt, Brad Ball, Rudi Liebenberg, Franck Dangereux and Reuben Riffel – rate it as one of the best restaurants in Cape Town.
The latter moved into a chic space on Maison Wine Estate in November 2017, and is headed by chef David Schneider (who worked alongside chef Liam and Ivor Jones at Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia).
As with Liam’s three other wildly popular restaurants, the menu is an inspired array of globally inspired tapas that are enhanced when accompanied by some of the estate’s excellent wines.
Before you leave, stock up on take-home treats and wines from the deli.
