Restaurants he rates in 2019

For a casual meal South China Dim Sum Bar in Long street – amazingly down-to-earth and it’s all about the food! Simple and perfectly executed.
For a special occasion Le Coin Français – my neighbour! It is elegant, stylish and the food screams romantic! Darren [Badenhorst] is a genius.
For a guilty pleasure Definitely Jason Bakery in Sea Point! And you get everything there from a quick bite to something sweet!
For a Winelands experience Chefs Warehouse at Maison – it is a beautiful fresh match of food and scenery.
For authentic cuisine The best burger I’ve had in a while was at Burgers and Muscle Cars [aka Three Feathers Diner] in Salt River! Two of my favourite things.
Best new restaurant I haven’t really been out in the last year.
Best “oldie but goodie” The Foodbarn in Noordhoek!
The best restaurant overall Too many of those to pick one. Every restaurant I go to regularly ticks all the boxes – all in their own way.
