Eric Bulpitt

Studied Hospitality Management at Winchester Mansions, and ended up working under chef Jonathan Staley. Joined the original Jardine Restaurant on Bree Street, and worked as a sous chef for three years under chef and mentor George Jardine. Moved to London and did a stint at The Ledbury, before settling at Trinity in Clapham.

Returned to South Africa after a year to take the head chef position at Jardine. Did a month and a half internship at Noma in Copenhagen (which was the San Pellegrino No.1 restaurant in the world at the time). Served as head chef at The Roundhouse Restaurant under PJ Vadas, and then chef-owner at The Restaurant at Newton Johnson in Hermanus.

Launched Faber at Avondale Estate in 2016, and worked there as chef-owner for two years, before becoming executive chef at Pierneef à La Motte in April 2018. Co-created the menu for Bootlegger Café and Grill in Constantia in 2017.
