Reuben Riffel

Started out in construction before branching into the restaurant industry. Served as barman and waiter at Chamonix Restaurant before becoming sous and executive chef.
Became head chef at Franschhoek-based Monneaux Restaurant. Earned international experience and recognition at Bruno’s Brasserie (Cambridge, England).
Opened Reuben’s branches in Franschhoek, Robertson Small Hotel, One&Only, Abalone House (Paternoster). Opened Racine at Chamonix.
Published Reuben at Home. Appeared on both The Martha Stewart Show and the Today Show. Served as MasterChef South Africa and MasterChef SA Celebrity guest judge. Recipient of SA Chef of the Year and Unilever Chef of the Year awards.

Current Chef and restaurateur at Reuben’s restaurants in Franschhoek, One&Only, Abalone House and Racine at Chamonix; co-owner of Tap|Eat in Franschhoek.
