Brought to you by Matt Manning, chef-patron of the wildly popular Grub & Vine bistro on Bree Street, this cool and contemporary Chef’s Studio is neatly housed on the second floor of the same building as his restaurant.
Thirty-year-old UK-born Matt, who cut his teeth in Michelin-starred restaurants under the likes of Marcus Wareing and superstar celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, conceived of the studio as a space to host his interactive cooking classes.
Guided by either Matt or a consummate guest chef, the classes allow participants to assist in the preparation of multi-course gourmet meals, during which they’ll gain fresh, new insights into the art of cooking, and pick up some nifty tricks of the trade. And, once preparation is complete, guests get to sit and down and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
The Chef’s Studio: Cooking classes and culinary experiences on offer
The studio features custom-built workstations equipped with the latest cooking technology from Siemens, and a long communal table that lends itself well to the social element of gourmet dining. This is, after all, as much about the interaction between guests and chefs as it is about the food.

How to Cook
An interactive cooking workshop, with each session focusing on a dish to match a chosen theme for the month. For example, the theme for May 2019 was Guilty Pleasures, with the two featured dishes being mac ’n’ cheese and chocolate fondant.

Matt Manning’s signature offering highlights a single chosen ingredient, which is featured across all five courses of the meal (each one paired with a vintage from a partnering wine farm). Guests form teams to recreate two of the five courses, following a demonstration by Matt. The experience showcases the versatility of certain ingredients, such as the Jerusalem Artichoke, which was the hero ingredient for May 2019.

The Chef’s Table
Guests are treated to a sumptuous five-course meal (with or without wine), prepared in the studio’s open-plan demo kitchen, so you’ll be able to watch the chefs at work and witness the culinary craftsmanship firsthand. Guests will also get a chance to participate in the preparation of the main course, under the guidance of chef Matt.
