The Chef’s Studio: Interactive Cooking Classes + Dinners on Bree Street

Chefs Studio Tegan Smith

Hone your skills at this foodie hub on Bree Street.

Down to the last chef’s knife, The Chef’s Studio is a state-of-the-art kitchen featuring custom-built workstations with slick surfaces and professional cookware. Housed on the second floor of the same Bree Street building as chef Matt Manning’s wildly popular Grub & Vine Bistro, Culture Wine Bar and The Blue Room, it’s a stylish, modern space “we just love to work in!” says Matt.

Chef Studio: Chef

Each month, The Chef’s Studio’s head chef Ukhonaye Mconi and his team host a series of themed events. From getting to grips with a recipe or technique in the How to Cook masterclasses to getting creative with a single ingredient at the One Ingredient dinners and cooking alongside your food heroes (a guest chef, baker, or specialist artisan) in the Cooking With collaborations.

Chefs Studio: Ingredient

The One Ingredient interactive dinners have long been a popular dining experience. Kick off with canapés and a chef’s demonstration, after which guests cook one or two of the courses themselves in pairs (wine glass in hand) at a workstation. Then settle in at the long table in the windows (looking over the lights of Bree Street) to feast on four courses, all using the theme ingredient of the evening. Berries and then pumpkin are the next two ingredients on the list to be explored in depth.
