IMAX Cape Gate: What’s Showing?

IMAX Cape Gate: What’s Showing?

For an immersive cinematic experience, look no further than the IMAX 3D theatre at Ster Kinekor CapeGate.

When the IMAX theatre at the V&A Waterfront closed down in 2004, scores of moviegoers were left bitterly disappointed. Fast forward to 2014: IMAX returned to the Mother City, with its new home at Ster Kinekor CapeGate.

Like all IMAX cinemas across the globe, the CapeGate theatre has a crystal-clear projection system, world-class digital sound and, of course, a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screen that’s all-encompassing – why would you want to watch movies anywhere else?

What’s Showing at IMAX Cape Gate?

Movie-goers can look forward to an exciting season of blockbusters like The Predator (3D).

Will you be showing Batman – The Dark Knight?, If so when?

    • The Inside Guide

Hi Natalie, the Imax Cape Gate shows new release films, whereas The Dark Knight – great a film as it is – is 10 years old. However, the Galileo Open Air Cinema screens classic films, and have screened The Dark Knight before. Their new season starts in October, we suggest you watch this space as we will update their schedule as soon as it is available: https://insideguide.co.za/cape-town/things-to-do/galileo-open-air-cinema/.
