Began his career at 16, working weekends and school holidays in a hotel kitchen. Moved to the UK and worked at a number of culinary establishments, including Launceston Place in Kensington, Michelin-starred The Square in Mayfair, and La Trompette in Chiswick. Returned to South Africa in 2013, and joined Pierneef à La Motte as senior sous chef. Joined Luke Dale Roberts at The Test Kitchen in 2015, and became head chef in 2016. Co-founded Salsify at The Roundhouse with Luke in 2018.
