Boschendal Accommodation Specials: From R1 815 per Cottage

Chill out and cosy up in style this season.

When it comes to an authentic Winelands experience, Boschendal ticks all the boxes. And then some. Stylish accommodation, a welcoming Werf for wining, dining (and other special events), hectares of stunning surroundings to explore, and a kids’ club that would give some of the swankiest resorts in Mauritius a run for their money.

Boschendal Winter Accommodation Special: Cottage Exterior

With ancient oaks, layers of vineyards and a Manor House dating back to 1685, that now houses a contemporary art gallery in collaboration with the Norval Foundation, the estate permeates centuries-old heritage. But its contemporary approach to sustainable, regenerative, nature-forward farming – as well as a wonderful array of modern-day pursuits – make it an ideal Winelands outing.

Day visits are fabulous, of course, but to fully appreciate all that’s on offer and Boschendal’s warm-hearted hospitality, you need to spend a few days here, in sync with the rhythms of nature and the farm’s true purpose. Which is where the current accommodation specials come in…

While you’re there

Boschendal Winter Accommodation Special The Werf Restaurant
Claire Gunn

A treasure trove of leisure activities awaits, suited to friends and families, young and old. Foodies will be in their element with the Werf Restaurant and Deli on their doorstep serving farm-to-fork plates of deliciousness, while the Werf Bar is just the place to relax with a sundowner. There are also stylish picnics to enjoy on the lawns (or in the Olive Press, if the winter weather doesn’t play ball), with live music on weekends during May.

Boschendal Winter Accommodation Special Outdoor Experiences

Outdoor enthusiasts will relish the trails through orchards and mountain fynbos: on foot, by bike (world-class MTB routes plus a kids’ pump track) or on horseback (with pony rides for the little ones). A guided walking tour of the farm offers insights into how it all works – and a little produce harvesting of your own.

Guests with a special interest in winemaking, art, architecture or history will be more than catered for. The old Manor House recently opened its doors to the Norval Gallery, and there are special wine tastings (and also chocolate pairings and oyster and Cap Classique pairings) at the Cellar Door and Werf wine tasting daily.

There’s even an opportunity for a little retail therapy at the beautifully merchandised Farm Shop filled with locally made crafts, décor delights and bath and body products inspired by the farm.
May is the last chance to enjoy the popular Friday night market (until next spring).

Then, of course, there’s The Tree House at Boschendal, an exceptional one-stop adventure zone for children aged five to 14 years. From harvesting happy-hen eggs to learning about recycling and making a fire and then cooking a pizza… our only question is: do they take adults?
